Kuchiya Taiko Dai was born in 2006 as the 50th Taiko Dai in Niihama City, and this year marks the 19th anniversary of its founding. Since its establishment,we have been engaged in activities to disseminate the Niihama Taiko Festival culture nationwide. There are three main appealing points of Kuchiya TaikoDai. and the stories related to the gods are suitable as first is a gorgeous structure with traditional Japan craftsmanship everywhere. The patterns related to the Besshi Copper Mine, which are meticulously reproduced with Japan embroidery, a Taiko Dai bearing the name "Kuchiya", where was the gateway to the Besshi Copper Mine, which laid the foundation for the development of Niihama. In addition, there are not many examples in other places, such as the use of the Ehime Prefecture emblem for the pattern of the Tenmaku, and it is a Taiko Dai suitable for promoting Ehime Niihama. The second is that we dispatch Taiko Dai to various regions for the purpose of promoting the Niihama Taiko Festival nationwide, and we continue to convey its charm to many spectators and share the excitement. The uninterrupted performance of more than 150 performers, signals from the Kakifu and the Conductor, and the loud drums of the ringing drums, unite the entire venue and create excitement and energy. Among them, the throwing of 2.5 tons in the air, which never drops to the destination if carried by the bearer, is reminiscent of the power of "Nakamochi-san" who once carried the crude copper of the Besshi Copper Mine. The third is the planning ability to create a new way of festival that will lead to the future under the name of "Kakifu Experience-based Tour". While some of the participants came from as far away as Norway in Scandinavia, we realized that Taiko Dai are a wonderful traditional culture that allows us to share a sense of accomplishment by "carrying a Taiko Dai" across regions and even borders. We are confident that we will be able to convey the excitement and sense of accomplishment to visitors from all over the world with our planning capabilities. It is our sincere hope that we will use these "Kuchiya powers" to cooperate with the Taiko Dai that participates in the Osaka World Exposition, and to raise my hometown of Niihama to the heavens.
